In this article, we’ll be discussing how Mr. Power Clean goes the extra mile to ensure you’re getting a quality cleaning.

Now, before we begin, we would never assume that other carpet cleaners in Springfield don’t perform their services with integrity and a dedication to quality.

With that being said, we’ve had clients that have asked us…

Why are you doing that?… I’ve never seen that done before when I’ve had my carpets cleaned.

So, just in case your service provider may not be performing every necessary step, here’s an overview on how we approach our process of cleaning that represents us…

“Going The Extra Mile”

The Preparation

With every project we perform, we approach it first with care and respect for your home. Thoughtful planning goes into each process of our operations.

Here are some examples…

Entryways, Doorways, Hallways, Corners & Flooring

It’s no secret that our equipment used to perform our services is complex. There are hoses, wands and sprayers needed to complete the process.

Preparation, Protecting The Corners

The hoses for example, extend from our vans, through the entire house, all the way to the room we are cleaning. Although we generally have at least 2 technicians on site to manage these, we also ensure respect for your home by installing corner guards.

These guards, as they obviously represent, help prevent unnecessary damage to your property’s vulnerable areas.

Preparation, Protecting The Flooring

Our hoses have connection points that are usually made up of brass & metal fittings. To protect your flooring, we wrap our hose fittings in protective padded material.

As you can see above, these fittings could easily damage your floors.

The above example is the protective padding we wrap our hoses in to prevent from damaging your flooring.

Next, Ensuring Cleanliness & Staying Respectful

Another component of our preparation includes a “common sense” approach. During our service, we’ll have to track back and forth throughout the home. As with each time we leave/enter the home, we wear shoe covers.

These protect your property (carpets) from us tracking unnecessary dirt throughout your home on already cleaned areas.

The Process

If you were to ask several different companies…What are the best ways to clean carpets? You’d probably get a variety of answers. We have more information that covers this topic regarding the pros & cons of each type, but we’ll focus on our preferred and proven method, steam cleaning. More specifically, the method of our process that represents us going that extra mile.

The Process – Step #1, Vacuuming

We vacuum the carpet prior to steam cleaning.

Now, the value of vacuuming prior to the actual steaming process, is to remove any and all existing loose material from within the carpets. By removing this loose material, it allows our pre-treatment and cleaning detergents to fight the real hard to clean areas more effectively.

The Process – Step #2, Pre-treatment

pretreatment spray on hard to clean carpets
We pre-treat areas of the carpets that are significantly more soiled.

Now, we pre-treat all areas of the carpet (more on that below), but in this example, we additionally treat certain areas with a stronger solution if the carpets have been soiled more heavily than others.

The Process – Step #2 of 2, Standard Pre-treatment

This is our standard pre-treatment on areas of the carpet.

In the example above, we are pre-treating all of the carpet prior to cleaning. This is a standard practice.

The Process – Step #3, Scrubbing It In

scrubbing the carpets to loosen the soiled areas
We scrub areas of the carpet to help loosen the soiled areas.

This is probably one of the more recognized applications that are clients speak of. We often hear them say…I’ve never seen this before, what are you doing?

By scrubbing into the fibers of the carpets, it allows the deep down soiled areas to become loosened, which helps aid in the cleaning process more thoroughly.

The Process – Step #4, Steam Cleaning

All of these steps led up to the point of us finally performing our steam cleaning of the carpets. Going that extra mile, but we’re not finished yet!

Putting On The Final Touches

So, we’ve prepped properly, ensured cleanliness, stayed respectful, implemented the proper processes, and now it’s time to put on the finishing touches.

The Final Touch, The Wipe Down

We wipe down the trim and base boards after cleaning to ensure no cleaning residue remains.

After we have cleaned an area, we take that “extra mile” step and wipe down all areas that have been cleaned around. This usually includes mild over sprays from the water that our machine produces.
