Here’s a project we were hired to perform after a home in Springfield, MO had been impacted by water damage.
The water damage was from that of a refrigerator line break, but it had been leaking for some unknown time before. The particle board sub-floor beneath the tile was completely saturated.
These are the preliminary steps we implemented prior to renovation.
First, we removed all contents from the damaged areas.
Our next step taken was to move all of the kitchen contents, including all lower base cabinet content, to an adjacent area at the home where there was no work to be performed.
Once the area was prepped, we started with our water damage inspection.
We started by using our moisture meter device, which allows us to detect any area within the home that had been subjected to water penetration.
This process is favorable for the homeowner as it doesn’t require any unnecessary destruction of non-impacted areas.
We also made sure to check all areas near and under appliances.
After checking other areas, we found that the water had saturated the majority of the sub-floor beneath the tile.
To confirm all impacted areas, we also inspected the underneath side of the structures from within the crawl space.
All steps taken in this process allowed us to determine all impacted areas as well as how to approach the process of renovation.
Whether your home or property has been impacted by a small leak or flooding, you can trust Mr. Power Clean to determine the process of repairing your water damage for a quality restoration.
